It seems as if once photos are in the Shared Album they can not be edited, such as cropping, except in the "main" library. Metadata updates seem to work differently. However the photos in the Shared Album isn't updated, but the one in my 'All Photos' album is. I do this, make the changes/edits, press Done. When I go to edit the photo from the Shared Album, Photos tells me that I "must switch to it in your library".
